To explore the concept of “architectural direction” as a method for developing regeneration concepts for sacred spaces. To develop implementation scenarios for reimagining the multi-layered structure of the Resurrection Skete in Odessa. Methodology. Historical-genetic and historical-architectural methods were applied to analyze the phased development and determine the potential of the sacred space. Spatial analysis was used to reveal the compositional structure, visual connections, and interactions between architectural objects and landscape elements. The comparative method made it possible to systematize contemporary approaches to the regeneration of the historic environment. The methods of scenario modeling and architectural direction were applied to develop regeneration concepts and their variations in spatial development. Results. The historical and spatial context underlying the creation of this sacred site has been examined, and its evolutionary stages have been identified-from a 19th-century monastic hermitage to its current state of neglect. A comprehensive assessment of the historical and cultural potential of the territory has been conducted, which includes architectural heritage sites, memorial structures with recreational functions, and the natural landscape. The effectiveness of using a scenario-based approach to the regeneration of sacred spaces with a multi-layered historical structure has been confirmed. The concept of interpreting latent layers, their conflicts, and structural reinterpretation for further development has been explored. The fundamental principles for reviving the sacredness of the site have been substantiated, including the preservation of historical heritage, the restoration of the compositional structure, and the creation of a memorial space within the context of its sustainable development. The application of “architectural direction” is demonstrated as a mechanism for realizing a spatial scenario that ensures a phased visual and emotional experience while moving through the territory. The following concepts for the regeneration of the Resurrection Skete are proposed: “Palimpsest of History,” “Cemetery Memorial Park,” “Sacred-Recreational Park,” and “Monastic Landscape,” which bring latent layers to the surface and facilitate their reinterpretation, creating a cohesive environment where sacred, memorial, and recreational elements can coexist harmoniously. Scientific novelty. The concept of interpreting latent layers, their conflicting nature, and their architectural reinterpretation for sustainable development is explored. A range of regeneration strategies has been developed for the sacred environment of the Voskresensky Skete, where memorial, cultural, and recreational functions coexist harmoniously through architectural design. Practical relevance. The findings can be applied in architectural and urban planning practice, in the regeneration of historic urban environments, in the field of cultural heritage preservation, and in further research on sacred spaces.
