The article considers the problem of developing strength endurance in young men using the «Functional Body Weight» method. The relevance of using exercises with one’s own body weight in the process of physical education of adolescents is substantiated, taking into account their age-related anatomical and physiological characteristics. The scientific and methodological literature on the essence of strength endurance, the mechanisms of its development and the features of its formation in adolescence is analyzed. Methodological principles for the use of functional exercises without additional weighting are determined and a training program aimed at increasing the level of strength endurance is developed. The article presents the results of a pedagogical experiment in which young men aged 15–17 participated. A comparative analysis of the indicators of the control and experimental groups showed a statistically significant improvement in the results in the experimental group after applying the method. The obtained data confirm the effectiveness of the «Functional Body Weight» method in the development of strength endurance in young men. The practical significance lies in the possibility of implementing the developed program of classes into the physical education system of secondary education institutions.
