Abstract

The work investigated the kinetics of humus decomposition under the influence of high temperatures (350–450 °C). Using thermographic analysis, the temperature of the beginning of combustion of organic matter was established at ≈210 °C. It was proven that thermal exposure for 5 minutes reduces the humus content by 30%. Based on the Arrhenius equation, the activation energy of dehumification (Ea ≈ 63 kJ/mol) was calculated, which confirms the high vulnerability of the soil to burning of dry vegetation.
