The text examines the problem of the "urban heat island effect" that arises due to the replacement of nature with asphalt and concrete. This increases the temperature in cities, harms people's health and increases air conditioning costs. The authors offer an effective solution - green roofs and vertical gardening. Due to water evaporation and shading, plants work as natural temperature regulators. They reduce the heating of roofs, clean the air and retain rainwater, which significantly improves the quality of life in megacities.
