The paper considers the valorization of organic waste using black lionfly larvae (Hermetia illucens) as a promising direction of ecological biotechnology. It is shown that bioconversion makes it possible to reduce the volume of organic waste and obtain valuable products - protein-lipid biomass and frass. The advantages of the technology and its importance for the circular economy and sustainable development are summarized.
