Abstract

War operations in Ukraine have caused an unprecedented burden on the environment, especially on agricultural lands and water bodies. Soil contamination with heavy metals, petroleum products, explosives, destruction of land reclamation systems, flooding of territories and pollution of water areas create long-term threats to ecological security. The article provides estimates of the scale of damage to agro-ecosystems, analyzes the main factors of anthropogenic impact and outlines priority measures for restoration.
