Abstract

The paper considers practical approaches to the environmental modernization of gas stations, taking into account the current conditions of energy sector transformation. The main sources of negative environmental impact of gas stations are analyzed, in particular, leaks of petroleum products, evaporation of volatile compounds, and inefficient waste management. Special attention is paid to technical solutions that reduce environmental risks: sealing tanks, implementing vapor recovery systems, and digital control of fuel storage and sales processes. Examples of integration of electric charging infrastructure and use of renewable energy sources as directions of gas station transformation are considered. It is substantiated that environmental modernization contributes not only to reducing the negative environmental impact, but also to increasing the economic efficiency and competitive positions of enterprises. It is established that the combination of technological innovations, management decisions, and changes in the demand structure creates the prerequisites for the transition of gas stations to a more sustainable operating model.
