The article discusses the application of low-frequency ultrasonic diagnostics for monitoring extensive pipelines in the oil and gas industry. The procedure for identifying metal loss in pipes during operation is analyzed. The use of threshold logic for detecting defects in the pipeline walls and the necessity of transitioning from non-destructive testing to technical diagnostics is discussed.
