In the article we substantiate and formulate method of determining the required type of aircraft for a particular route based on the developed algorithm of choosing the best option with the use of the simplex method. We proposed a criterion to evaluate the structure of the required fleet of aircraft allows to perform a large number of variants of combinations of describing parameters using approved methods of study: method of least squares, regression analysis, factor analysis, linear programming, economic analysis. The technique of determining the structure of the required fleet of aircraft on the specified routes takes into account the presence of a limited amount of source data on the relationship and mutual influence of the selected characteristics of the air transport system, which involves the use of statistical data or projected solutions. The total error in this case leads to loss of definition of the boundary values of the distribution routes.
