Editorial ethics

The Editorial Board of the “Ukrainian Scientific Journal of Information Security” operates in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On Education”, the Law of Ukraine “On Scientific and Scientific-Technical Activity”, recommendations of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine on ensuring academic integrity, as well as international standards of publication ethics, in particular the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

The Editorial Board ensures adherence to ethical standards at all stages of the editorial and publishing process.

  1. Principles of Editorial Activity

The editorial policy of the journal is based on the following principles:

  • legality, objectivity, impartiality, and transparency;
  • scientific validity and reliability of research results;
  • non-discrimination on the basis of gender, race, nationality, religion, political views, or other characteristics;
  • ensuring confidentiality of submitted materials.

Decisions on publication are made based on scientific significance, originality, relevance to the journal’s scope, and peer review results.

  1. Responsibilities of the Editorial Board

The Editorial Board:

  • organizes independent peer review of submitted manuscripts in accordance with established procedures;
  • ensures adherence to the principles of double-blind peer review;
  • conducts plagiarism checks using specialized software;
  • makes decisions on acceptance, rejection, or revision of manuscripts;
  • considers complaints and appeals regarding possible violations of academic integrity;
  • initiates procedures for corrections, retractions, or clarifications when necessary.
  1. Conflict of Interest

Members of the Editorial Board must avoid conflicts of interest. In case of a conflict, the respective editor is excluded from the manuscript review process. All participants in the publication process must disclose any potential conflicts of interest.

  1. Ensuring Publication Integrity

The Editorial Board does not accept for publication manuscripts that contain:

  • plagiarism or self-plagiarism;
  • fabrication or falsification of research results;
  • improper use of sources or violations of copyright.

In such cases, the Editorial Board acts in accordance with COPE recommendations and applicable legislation of Ukraine.

  1. Confidentiality

The Editorial Board guarantees confidentiality of submitted manuscripts. Materials are not disclosed to third parties without the authors’ consent, except as required by the peer review process or applicable law.

  1. Open Access Policy

The journal is an open access scientific publication. All published materials are freely available to users without financial, legal, or technical barriers, supporting the principles of open science and the dissemination of knowledge.

  1. Responsibility of the Parties

Authors are responsible for the content of their articles, the accuracy of the data presented, and compliance with academic integrity standards. The Editorial Board reserves the right to perform literary and technical editing without altering the scientific content.

The Editorial Board of the journal ensures compliance with national and international standards of editorial ethics in order to enhance the quality of scientific publications and maintain trust in research results.
