In the 70s of the last century, during the active development of electronic computing technology, the development of computing systems went in two ways: high-performance computing systems (OS); narrow-profile computing systems. In fact, high-performance systems are universal operating systems whose task is to maximize the high speed of computing per unit of time. Narrow-profile operating systems aimed at performing certain types of tasks, where just the speed of calculations did not matter so much, and other technical characteristics were obtained for the first roles: energy efficiency, product ergonomics, the need to perform only certain types of tasks, and so on. Specifically, the type of tasks has become decisive in terms of the architectural implementation of the OS. Let's consider the RISC-V architecture to assess the prospects of its introduction into the mass segment.
