This study focuses on the role of compositional laws of visual arts in architectural design. These laws form the artistically expressive architectural image. Purpose. The goal of the study is to identify and systematize the main compositional principles of visual arts and to analyze the features of their transformation during the creation of the volumetric-spatial structure of architectural objects. Methodology. The methodology is based on a comprehensive approach that includes theoretical, comparative, and visual analysis of architectural and artistic sources. A synthesized approach was used in this study, combining principles of architectural composition, proportion theory, rhythm, compositional accent, and other aspects. Based on the analysis of examples of contemporary and historical architecture, it can be concluded that there are stable regularities in form formation. By considering and analyzing a wide variety of architecture, complemented by the interpretation of spatial and plastic objects, a holistic understanding of all compositional principles inherent in modern architectural practice emerges. Results. The study determined that all compositional laws characteristic of visual arts can be universal for other fields, including architectural form-making and design. Laws such as rhythm, meter, balance, symmetry and asymmetry, dynamics and statics, as well as means of artistic expression-color, light, texture, and others – are indispensable in forming architectural composition and have a significant impact on the integrity, emotional expressiveness, aesthetics, and completeness of the architectural image as a whole. Scientific novelty. The novelty of this study lies in rethinking the set of compositional foundations of visual arts integrated into architectural design to enhance functionality, spatiality, and artistic value. Practical relevance. The practical significance of these results lies in their applicability in the educational process for training architects and in future architectural practice, helping to create artistically expressive, bold, and qualitatively new architectural solutions, and fostering contemporary and aesthetically appealing architectural art
