Abstract

Biodiesel fuels have certain advantages over diesel fuels of petroleum origin. In particular, this concerns their environmental properties and ability to biologically regenerate plant raw materials and compatibility with petroleum diesel fuel. Methanol, as well as ethyl alcohol, are usually used in the production of biodiesel. An analysis of the literature data was conducted to summarize the influence of vegetable oil esters on the properties of diesel fuels that affect the operation and power of diesel engines. Based on the analysis of the literature data, it was shown that ethyl esters of fatty acids of vegetable oils have better heat of combustion and environmental performance of diesel engines.
